Day One: Arrive in Havana
After your arrival to Jose Marti International Airport in Havana, check into your accommodation at one of our preferred hotels in the heart of the urban cultural mecca. Enjoy a traditional Cuban libation made with locally produced rum at a welcome cocktail hour before having an evening to savor your first taste of authentic cuisine at a paladar recommended by our knowledgeable guides.

Day Two: Central Havana
Spend the morning visiting the Merger, one of the newest galleries in Cuba. The name is derived from three talented men who decided to “merge” together to create modern pieces of abstract art with a bold message. Marvel at the stainless steel, glass, aluminum and other materials used to construct these playful sculptures. After lunch at a local paladar, tour El Taller Experimental de Grafica, an artist studio and workshop founded by a local muralist with the support of Che Guevara in 1961. End your afternoon with samplings from the local rum factory and learn about the production of one of Cuba’s biggest exports.

Day Three: Downtown Havana
Take in the sights and sounds of downtown with a historic tour before a morning visit to the Callejón Art Project. Led by a world renowned Cuban painter and sculptor, you’ll gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Afro-Cuban works as your hear the stories and inspiration behind the art. Continue your journey exploring the creative Cuban renaissance with a visit to a collaborative merger of sculptors that recreate mundane objects into grand works with socio-political themes. Continue your tour of downtown Havana before an evening show featuring the invigorating and rhythmic dance styles of the island.

Day Four: Marina District
After a morning in the Marina District to unearth the secrets of the nearly 500 year old seaport and its guarding castle fortress, visit another group of local artists creating paintings and drawings whose messages are heavily influenced from both historical and modern events. Discover charming crafts and cultural creations from the locals at the art market for the rest of the afternoon.

Day Five: Final Day in Havana
After your morning breakfast, visit one last community art initiative, Arte y Corte. Barbers, hairdressers, painters, and artists of other medias gather to transcend beyond the job of styling hair into an artistic and fashion transformation. Enjoy one last bite of island flavor at a nearby paladar before transferring to Jose Marti International.
